At the very heart of Martin County's soul is her environment. Both natural and built; man coexisting with nature. Martin County Future Group understands the great need to protect our natural assets; our rivers, wetlands and remaining native uplands. We understand that natural environmental protection springs from quality education and a healthy economic environment. People must understand how they affect their surroundings and they must have jobs that allow them to afford to support the environmental movement.

Martin County Future Group strongly supports all efforts to clean up our rivers, stop pollution and damaging discharges into our estuaries. We support the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Project and the Indian River Lagoon Restoration plans.

Martin County Future Group understands that man is part of the environment, that development codes and building codes have to protect our natural resources while providing shelter for humans. We have called for green building standards to be adopted as code. We champion the idea of a Western Martin County Environmental Center done in concert with the Treasure Coast Wildlife Center, South Florida Water Management District, Indian River Community College and Florida Atlantic University.
